Beau-Zone Layer - Tedorigawa Yamahai Junmai

Howdy! They sure do make a lot of Yamahai style sake in Ishikawa Prefecture. And this brew from Tedorigawa is no exception as it is a nice representation of how and what a true Yamahai should taste like. In early June I was at this brewery, and the owner said that it won a Silver Medal at the 2012 International Wine Challenge (IWC) and he was a little bummed. As a judge for the IWC I told him that the Junmai category was over-judged this year and I feel that most Silver Medals would have been Gold Medals in year's past. Regardless this is a great tasting sake that does well at three temperatures and is a terrific food pairing brew. So try this Yamahai guy from the very Yamahai friendly Ishikawa area.
