Sake Story - Oldest Brewery Talks Post Earthquake Blues

Posted by Beau Timken in 2012, Newsletter, October, Sake Story
True Sake This is a Japan Times article about Sudo Honke (The Ibaraki brewery that is the oldest in the biz) makers of Sato no Homare "Pride of the Village." We bring this article to your attention because as fate would have it the day after this article was passed on to me we found out from the importers that the price of Sato no Homare will double next month. We do not know why! The importers do not know why! Perhaps you will know why after reading the article - or not!

Nuke crisis tested oldest sake brewer

P.S. We have elected not to carry Sato no Homare at that price point, and we have six bottles left in store.
