Gokyo Junmai "Five Bridges"JH49

Four Hot Words: Rich, Round, Ricey, & Flavorful

This sake has been discontinued and is no longer available.

This is one of the historically solid Junmai sakes in the sake world. It has a very soild aroma field filled with hot beach sand, steamed rice, honey, and mineral elements. Talk about a smooth and fat sake that feels very good in the mouth. A dry brew but with hints of rich sweetness like nougat, butter, and butterscotch flavors on a slick flow that brings the movement from tip to tail. This sake is rich but it is not full-bodied in a large sense and this is good because Gokyo goes down easy and a second glass is just as easy etc. A good three-temperature sake that does well in a mid-sized glass. WORD: Round WINE: Pinot Noir/Fat Whites BEER: Creamy Ales FOODS: A very food friendly sake with all center of the plate dishes.

Prefecture: Yamaguchi
SMV: +4
Acidity: 1.5
