Sake Summary – A Very Eventful Year For True Sake

It’s been quite a year for True Sake. So before we go on the Holiday Blitz I’d like to take a moment to think back to what has transpired in the past 12 months. First and foremost the store known as True Sake celebrated its 10th anniversary on August 7th! Despite taking a year and half to open the store – thanks to the animals known as the “local government” – we produced an establishment that gained worldwide attention in a very short period of time. I laugh to myself how easy it was to get “press” back in the day, not so much because of the store per se, but because of the “new” discovery known as sake. When nationally televised “Sunday Morning” shows are doing stories about your place you know that you have arrived.

True Sake Empire This year we saw the departure of several True Sake vets and the arrival of many new Team True Sake peeps who have really shined in their process of getting to better know you and the sakes themselves. We have a great team in place and they will be the ones to guide you through all of your holiday shopping!

2013 also saw me reconnect with Stephen King, who had done some IT work for me in the past on a project that was pre- True Sake. I bumped into Stephen at a local car wash and we guesstimated that it had been over ten years since we had seen each other. At the time I told him for the Tenth Anniversary I was going to finally take True Sake to cyber space or the “Internets” for those of you who don’t know what that is. After our “wash” Stephen contacted me and said that he would like to do the upgrade, which I knew was totally beneath him. Thus, a new partnership was formed and instead of just generating a new web presence we decided to start from scratch and modernize True Sake from the bottom up. (Yes the days of the blue cash box and handwritten receipts will soon be over!)

For several months we have been telling you about a new website and a new delivery program, but to get to there we had to rebuild True Sake from the inside out and that is Stephen’s specialty. So in a word thank you for your patience in this process, as we continue to modernize our systems within before we launch the new site, the new True Sake Mobile roll out, and our new and exciting future endeavors, which will take the brand to new and freakishly cool heights!

And lastly I would like to say that in the last 12 months we have also seen an influx of sakes, which has been unparalleled in our ten years of operations. In a word there are simply too many sakes available to the store and this is quite different than even five years ago. We swelled our inventory to new record levels of offerings, and are in the process of solidifying our portfolio in tandem with the site launch. This is a good thing people, and remember just because we can’t carry every sake doesn’t mean we cannot special order sake for you. We can and we will!
