Sake Brewery Tours 2011

Yes sake folks you are very lucky indeed! My buddy Etsuko Nakamura is hosting her sake brewery tours again this winter. If you have never been to a sake kura then you have not lived! Why not put that finishing touch on your sake adventure by spending time in the breweries themselves. I will say this - the only place that I can learn about sake is in the place where they make it.

Several years back I coined a term called "alcho-tourism" which is basically traveling to learn about and drink booze! What's cooler than that? (Especially if the education value is as high as the quality of the sake.) If you have ever wanted to visit Japan and more specifically several breweries in Japan this is the package that you have been waiting for.

TRUE SAKE DISCOUNT - And yes as Etsuko is a friend to True Sake she has offered a discount for you great readers! I say take her up on it!

Herewith is her offer:

The Sake Brewery Tours are 5-day excursions into the world of sake brewing, drinking and enjoyment, featuring an exclusive seminar with renowned expert and published author, Mr. John Gauntner. Experience sumptuous cuisine, luxurious excursions to some of Japan's famous hot springs and fantastic cultural highlights in areas seldom visited by foreigners. Participants achieve a deep understanding of sake's history, varieties and enjoyment with a wide range of food pairings. In 2011, we will return to San-in in western Japan, the "Land of Myth." And, we are adding a tour of the northern snow country of Akita. Itineraries for each tour are at the following links:

Akita Tour
San-in Tour
