![]() "The Mendocino Crab and Wine Festival is here and, as Rocky and Bullwinkle say, "now it's time for something completely different." That's why Little River Inn and Hana Sushi are getting together to bring you the first ever crab, sushi and sake dinner. That's right all you Hana aficionados, Ken Tominaga is coming to the coast, and he's bringing Stewart Morris, his sake sommelier, with him. For those of you not yet initiated into the cult of Ken, he puts out what is arguably the best sushi in Northern California. And Stewart is one of the very few Japan trained and certified sake sommeliers in America. And, of course, Little River Inn chef, Marc Dym, knows what to do with a Dungeness crab. Put it all together and you get an amazing seven course crab and sushi dinner prepared by Ken and Marc and paired with Stewart's sake picks. Here's a brief overview: For the last 11 years, you've been able to pair unusual and delicious wines with fresh crab during Mendocino County's 's Crab and Wine Festival, but this year - for the first time, you can pair your fresh crab with sake! On Friday, January 28, Little River Inn (just two miles south of the village of Mendocino) is offering their first Dungeness Crab and Sake Dinner. Chef Ken Tominaga from (Rohnert Park's Hana Japanese) is planning a seven course extravaganza with Little River Inn's executive chef, Marc Dym and Sake Sommelier Stuart Morris has chosen the sakes to compliment each creation. You can find the full details online, but here's a peek at what they've got planned: Dungeness Crab Croquettes, Dungeness Crab Sunomono with Kikiusui Junmai Ginjo, Crab and Corn Soup with Masumi Okuden Kantsukuri Junmai, Dungeness Crab and Ahi Poke with Yuho Junmai , Shiitake and Chawanmushi with Nishinoseki Junmai, Crab Red Miso Bouillabaisse with Sato No Homare Junmai Ginjo and finally, Saki Poached Pear Carpaccio with Hou Hou Shu Junmai!
