Takachiyo Origarami Junmai Cup
The nose on this very fun cup sake is a gentle collection of sweet rice, floral, and pear aromas. Origarami means “Light Nigori” or “Misty” sake, but we in San Francisco, like to call this foggy sake, because it looks like liquid fog. Karl would love this brew! It is round, semi-sweet, gentle, and really refreshing. Look for hints of sweet rice, pear, apple, cherry, and a touch of citrus flavors that expand in the palate. So darn quaffable! We wish this cup were bigger! It’s fun to look at the fluid in a light or even the sun. Speaking of the sun, this sake was made for hot days, and hopefully around a pool or at the ocean. Light and clean and totally foggy, this sake is liquid fun in a cup. WORD: Foggy WINE: Light Reds/Fruity Whites BEER: Fruity Ales FOODS: Beach, poolside, and picnic fare.
