Oze no Yukidoke IWC Omachi Junmai Ginjo Namazume
The nose on this sake that won a Gold Medal at the International Wine Challenge (IWC) is a stunning collection of apple, pear, cantaloupe, bamboo, green grasses, mint, ash, fennel, and herbal aromas. Rested for a year this brew is all about body, and oh what a body! Smooth, lush, weighty, clean, but full is layered, complex, and very drinkable. In a word it is delicious, and no wonder it won Gold. There is a very elegant relaxed complexity with a velvety assortment of apple, cooked pear, crème brûlée, Asian pear, papaya, lychee, sweet tea, and sweet rice favors. Round and super smooth there is a unique fruity minerally finish that is pretty amazing given that this has an SMV of +5, which is relatively dry. Great chilled in a wine glass.
