The nose on this seasonally released unpasteurized sake is a full collection of peach, pear, strawberry, grape, plum, and watercress aromas. Welcome back Urakasumi! A year has been too long of a wait for this powerhouse full flavored sake that is a food pairing dynamo. Rich-light, velvety, fresh, lively, juicy, round, and a little fleshy, this sake speaks to red wine drinkers who like a medium body but full taste. The balance is impeccable for a nama made with Sasanishiki rice milled to 60% that drinks full, fresh, and fun. Look for tangerine, berry, candied fig, apple pie, and steamed rice flavors on an umami driven flow. With an ABV of 17.5% this sake is a velvety roll in the rich and round world of luscious sake that works best in a wine glass. WORD: Robust WINE: Deep Reds/Fat Whites BEER: Creamy Ales FOODS: Hot pots, pasta, fish, fowl, pork, game, dried meats, hearty fare, bottarga and monkfish liver(ankimo).  (2024)

The nose on this seasonally released unpasteurized sake made with a consumption rice is a wonderful collection of cherry, raisin, cantaloupe, peach, lemon lime, and brandy aromas. Sasanishiki rice is rich, and so too is this Nama that drinks lush, round, smooth, velvety, and with a little tingle of freshness. It’s a full-bodied brew that has a nice weight to it and leaves long legs on the glass. Look for cherry, lime, peach, cooked pear, rose water, Jolly Rancher, and herbal flavors with a mineral finish. There is so much depth in this brew that has a 17.5% ABV and screams of rich raw sake at its freshest best! WORD: Rich WINE: Beefy Reds/Fat Whites BEER: Stouts FOODS: International spice, hot pots, tacos, pizza, fatty sashimi and sushi, steamed crab, and oysters. (2023)
