Esshu Sakurabiyori "Cherry Blossom Season" 2018
From Niigata Prefecture. Ginjo.SMV: -1 Acidity: 0.9
The nose on this year’s version of Sakurabiyori is filled with floral, melon, sweet rice, and fruit juice aromas. Wow! Talk about a gentle and clean ginjo with great feeling and flavor. At 14% alc. you’d think this brew would almost drink too light, but forget that! Even, smooth, silky, juicy, fruity, light and simply elegant this Ginjo is a pleasure in the palate. Look for powder sugar, melon, light pear, and a hint of sweet rice flavors that ride the very pristine and clean flow. A mid-size glass captures the best feeling and flavor relation, and the rest is pure silky magic. WORD: Gentle WINE: Soft reds / floral whites BEER:Light Ales FOODS: Sashimi, clean flavors, shellfish, oysters, grilled fish and chicken.

Seikyo Omachi "Mirror of Truth" 2018
From Hiroshima Prefecture. Junmai Nama.SMV: +3 Acidity: 1.5
The nose on this unpasteurized summer sake is a gentle collection of green apple, cut grasses, rose water, and berry aromas. Say hello to a nama sake made with the Omachi brewing rice varietal, which is one of our favorites! Chewy, bright, lush, large, velvety, lively, vivid, this brew drinks fresh as can be. Look for apple, sweet rice, mango, and pear flavors that jump on a bright and layered flow. This is nama sake personified. It is also a nama that actually does well warming in the glass. A little lighter in nature than 2017, but full of vivid fun that makes drinking juicy and flavorful sake so much fun. It is alive and expressive and you can’t beat that! WORD: Bright WINE: Large reds/ Zesty whites BEER: Crisp Ales FOODS: The kitchen sink!
