Saturday, September 13th – Sake Story Tasting with Yukie Hashimoto Manfred

WHO: Yukie Hashimoto Manfred, Western US Sales Manager of Sake Story   

WHAT: Free Sake Tasting for 21+ with ID

Yukie Hashimoto Manfred will be at the House of True to showcase her unique and special wares from Sake Story, an importer based out of Kent, Washington. Yukie-san will be pouring an old school dry Kimoto Doburoku from Nara, a fun umeshu from Hyogo, and a Honjozo Genshu Sherry Barrel Aged Sake from Okayama. These three selections are a great example of how sake-making boundaries are being pushed further and further to the next level. Have you ever wanted to try something new without buying a bottle blindly? Have you ever wanted to venture outside of your Daiginjo bubble and try something unique and different? Here's your chance! 

 

 

Friday, September 19th – Nara Prefecture's Choryo Shuzo Tasting 


WHEN: Friday September 19th from 4:00 – 6:00PM 

WHERE: True Sake 556 Hayes Street

WHO:  Choryo Shuzo from Nara Prefecture  

WHAT: Free Sake Tasting for 21+ with ID

Choryo Shuzo from Nara Prefecture will be in Hayes Valley SF to showcase their world famous nihonshu from the land of the roaming deer. They're most known for their taruzake aka cedar sake and their sake made with Omachi, aka one of the most popular sake rice varietals ever. Choryo Shuzo has been a good friend of True Sake for a long time now, and we are so happy to be hosting them. A representative from Japan will be making the trek from Nara to San Francisco, so don't miss out on this rare opportunity.


 

Saturday, September 20th – Kome Collective Tasting (Seaside, Soul of the Sensei, True Vision) with Bella Pearson


WHEN: Saturday September 20th from 2:00 – 4:00PM

WHO:  Bella Pearson of Kome Collective  

WHAT: Free Sake Tasting for 21+ with ID

Kome Collective's Bella Pearson will be stopping by the shop to showcase their latest offerings. Kome Collective's portfolio of expertly curated Japanese sake spans experiences rooted in tradition, up to the forefront of innovation. From the old school classics to the elegant cold-and-smooths, they import such a vast variety of small batch nihonshu from all over Japan. Bella will be showing off an awesome sparkling from Hiroshima, one of the original Junmai Daiginjo from Shizuoka, and one of the funkiest small batch productions to come out of Fukui. Come see what Kome Collective has to offer! 

 

 

 

Saturday, September 27th – True Sake presents the Original SAKE DAY!

WHERE: Hotel Kabuki Japantown SF 1625 Post St

WHO:  Sake Brewers, Importers, Distributors, Fans, and Connoisseurs!  

WHAT: Sake Tasting for 21+ with ID (unfortunately this event is SOLD OUT, sumimasen)

True Sake will actually be closed on Saturday September 27th, as we head down the street to the Hotel Kabuki in Japantown San Francisco to present the 20th Anniversary of the original, often imitated, never duplicated, SAKE DAY. We're biased of course, but this has got to be the biggest collection of sake superstars under one roof outside of Japan. A literal who's who of the sake industry will be in attendance to showcase the very best nihonshu the world has to offer. If you got yourself a ticket, consider yourself one of the lucky few. We'll see you there!
