Huchuhomare Taiheikai Tokubetsu Junmai “Pacific Ocean”

The front label on this sake is a traditional back of the bottle label with all of the pertinent info you’ll ever need. The nose on this brew is a collection of steamed rice, grain, melon, and blueberry elements. This is a very solid sake that is balance personified. There is a velvety flow of fruit elements but does not drink fruity. It has a tremendous mouth feel. It is smooth and round with hints of unripe pear, melon, white grape, and red apple. It speaks to those who like soft and chewy sake. WORD: Balanced WINE: Smooth reds & fat whites, BEER: big ales. FOODS: Anything off the grill, shellfish, and sushi.
