The nose on this well-balanced Junmai Ginjo is a clever collection of mango, lilies, cantaloupe, pear, guava, grape, cucumber, and marshmallow aromas. Made with the finest Yamadanishiki rice from Hyogo Prefecture, this Samurai Princess drinks more like a Daiginjo in an elegant and clean way. Round, smooth, and medium-bodied, there is a little acidity play that is uplifting and refreshing. There are layers of flavors such as vanilla, melon, powdered sugar, mango, creamy fruitsicle, caramel, and sweet rice that ends with a quick mineral finish. Amongst the nuanced flavors, there is a nice display of umami that presents more as the fluid warms in the glass. A very sophisticated yet user-friendly Junmai Ginjo that is a stellar gifting sake.
