Tsukasabotan Senchu Hassaku SE14 "Reika"

Four Hot Words: Dry, Clean, Smooth, & Lively

The nose on this summer favorite unpasteurized sake is a gentle collection of rose water, honeydew, blueberry, and mango aromas. Not as dry as seasons’ past, but not overtly fruity either just an expansive and thick fluid that flows through the palate. Zesty and brisk, but also very slippery with blueberry and mango hints and a peek-a-boo cherry vein. A smaller cup brings forth more melon & fruit tones and it is lots more wine-like in a bigger bowl. Last year, this brew relaxed with a little aging and this will do the same. It is tasty and has killer packaging. For the enthusiastic drinker, try it against it’s pasteurized sister sake! WORD: Frisky WINE: Brisk reds/crisp whites BEER: Bright ales FOODS: Salty and savory fare, things on the grill and on the stick.

Prefecture: Kōchi
SMV: +8
Acidity: 1.6
