The Beau-Zone Layer
Kuroushi Omachi “Black Bull”
From Wakayama Prefecture. Junmai Ginjo. SMV: +3 Acidity: 1.7
Okay Folks! Are you ready to try one of “those” brews? Are you ready to taste a “sake drinker’s sake”? This Black Bull is both a beauty and a beast in every sense of the good word! Talk about a layered and expressive sake that is rich and solid, but yet very approachable. There are many “omachi” rice fans out there, who feel that this particular rice varietal is exceptionally tasty and dramatic. Count me in! I love Omachi sakes and this is a great starting point if you want to experience a more full and heartier sake that has tons of personality and presence. And guess what? This brewery has graciously answered our request to put this bull in a cup! We felt that this layered Junmai Ginjo would excel in a cup not only from a packaging standpoint but from a flavor standpoint too! It’s time to get your bull on and taste a sake that screams out to red wine drinkers and those who love full-bodies in their glass!
