True News - From Oakland to SF: A New Chapter for Den
We just received an awesome update from Lani Sako, the Co-Owner of Den Sake, and wanted to share some wonderful news about what’s happening with Den in her words.
After 7 great years in Oakland (we released Batch #1 in August 2018!), we've outgrown our cozy spot at O2 Artisan's Aggregate and are relocating Den Sake to a new home in San Francisco. Since Yoshi and I moved back to SF last year, the move made sense for us — and we're excited for what's ahead.
Our new space will be larger and include a small retail area where you can taste and purchase Den Sake, along with a curated selection of sake-related items — some from Japan and some made by us. The location is in Mission Creek, a neighborhood between the Mission and Potrero Hill, with amazing neighbors like Heath Ceramics (on the same block!), Tartine Manufactory, Bar Gemini, True Laurel, Mijoté, and Flour & Water, to name just a few. We can't wait to welcome you there.
The permitting process is taking much longer than expected, so buildout hasn't begun yet. We're hopeful to be up and running by year's end — maybe sooner (fingers crossed!). In the meantime, as a tiny team with no employees, we're stretched thin juggling day to day operations, the move, and brewing. For the next few months, Yoshi will focus on Den Blue Label and Den Blanc. Den Red Label and Den 90 Kimoto aren't discontinued — just on pause until things settle down. Thanks so much for your patience; we'll let you know as soon as they're back.
Here's to new beginnings — and to sharing a glass with you in our new SF home soon!
