The nose on this seasonally released unpasteurized powerhouse brew is a cool collection of grape, melon, pineapple, mineral water, cotton, mint, and grape popsicle aromas. This can looks familiar right? It’s built exactly like the Red Snapper but the only difference is this black can has not been charcoal filtered and the taste is surprisingly different for such a subtle difference. Silky, clean, chewy, and with a medium body this is bold sake with tingly shibumi and an overall dry complexity and finish. Look for grape, Fuji apple, pear, mineral water, rock sugar, sliced white bread, and grape popsicle flavors that roll through the palate on a fluid that is weighty but light. If you like the Red Snapper you should give the Black Snapper a try. And how cool is that can? Rich and brash, zesty and tingly the fluid warms in the palate and plays host to a robust acidity that is robust and lively. Look for honey, raisin, powder sugar, watermelon, spearmint, fig, and mineral flavors on a dry flow with a crisp finish.
