Kikusui Funaguchi Ginjo Nama Genshu "Red"

All four of these sakes are pretty similar, but each has unique qualities. The nose on Red is ricy, tangy and yeasty. This “can” has been aged for one year and that mellows the brew done a bit. It’s not as brash as Gold and Green, and has a more pronounced sweetness that is softer and less rich. It drinks more easy than the others and has a nectar, honey, and fruit juice sweetness on a very soft and semi-fat flow. There is a roundness to Red not found in the other four cans and that is the aging! WORD: Smooth WINE: Soft Reds/Fat whites BEER: Creamy ales FOODS: All spice dishes from anywhere in the world, salty fare, pub snacks.
